Win Disney

Ahh…Disney, the magical world of Disney.  It’s a place where dreams come true, and people never leave unsatisfied.  Disney is kind of iconic, and it takes you away from the realities of life by bringing you into a fantasy world with its larger than life hotels, great live shows, different theme parks and its magnificent food.  Now, there are two places in the USA to see Disney in its full effect:  Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida.

About Disney

Construction of Disneyland began on 1954 in Anaheim, CA, and the opening day was July 17th, 1955.  The park was built on many acres, but since its opening day, Disneyland has undergone expansions and major renovations.  At first, there was only one theme park and one hotel (the Disneyland theme park and the Disneyland Hotel).  However in the late 1990s, another theme park (Disney California Adventure theme park) and two hotels (Disney Grand Californian Hotel and Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel) were added.  There are many things to do in Disneyland ranging from seeing the fireworks and all of the different attractions to having a character dining experience or a spa treatment at one of the hotels.

Disney World is located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, and its opening day was October 1st, 1971.  The Walt Disney World property covers nearly 25,000 acres and includes five theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the new Toy Story Land) and two water parks (Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach).  The property also includes thirty four resorts and hotels. (Two of them I can personally recommend are the Disney’s Grand Floridian and Spa and the Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort).  Just like in Disneyland, there are many things to do in Disney World such as seeing the live shows or golfing on any one of Disney’s golf course.

Who doesn’t love Disney?

Who Doesn’t love Disney?  I have never met anyone who doesn’t like Disney.  I have been there a number of times and never left unhappy.  One of my favorite things to do in life is eat, so it’s no wonder that one of my favorite things to do in Disney is to go to Epcot and try the cuisine of the different countries.

Anytime is a fabulous time to go to Disney, but its extra special during the holidays.  The reason I say this is because the fireworks are spectacular.  Fireworks in Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are a nightly occurrence (Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is at the Magic Kingdom, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth is shown at Epcot and Fantasmic! is shown at Hollywood Studios)  but these theme parks have more spectacular fireworks shows from Christmas to the culmination on New Year’s Eve.

Disney is getting expensive

In Disneyland beginning’s, the price of admission was one dollar for adults and rides cost between 10 and 30 cents.  When Disney World’s first theme park, Magic Kingdom, opened, tickets were only $3.50.  However as the years went by, tickets have increased astronomically in price.  Prices per ticket for each Disneyland and Disney World have skyrocketed to near or over $100 per ticket.  This does not include any of the food in the parks or incidentals that you might want to buy at the gift shops.  Moreover, the hotels on the Disney property as well as the airfare is expensive.  Add the price of a hotel and airfare to a ticket, and it will cost a family of four thousands of dollars to go to either Disneyland or Disney World.

Free Disney tickets and hotel stays

Like I said before, taking your family on a trip to Disney is expensive.  Winning a Disney Sweepstakes is the best way to take your family for FREE!  If you do not win one, the next best thing is to go on different websites to try and save on Disney hotels and tickets.  If in fact though you are one of the lucky ones to win a trip to Disney, make sure to pay the taxes on the vacation package to the IRS.

Everyone loves Disney, but the tickets, hotels, and airfare are getting much more expensive as the years go by.  So make sure to do everything in your power to get a FREE or discounted family vacation to Disney.
